Leaves: Deciduous, splendid red autumn leaf colour, medium sized.
Features: White flower heads in late spring, black berries, red bark on twigs, British native plant.
Height: Medium.
Grows in: Sun, shade, normal soil, dry soil, wet soil, exposed sites, chalky soil, acid soil, sandy soil.
Other details: Suitable for boundary hedges, suitable for planting as screens, medium growth rate.
Hedge spacing: 45cm.
Trimming: Early spring.
